Poetry Defenition:
A form of literature meant for expression and conveying the depth and effect of words. Poetry has many forms, ranging from free verse to rhythmical; this is a form of art that can be used with any type of figurative language. Poetry can elevate peoples thoughts and convey speech patterns by using simple language conventions.
Example:
Poetry is not simple, it doesn't have to rhyme
But if it does, is that such a crime?
Take a look at this, isn't it grand?

Significance:
The significance of poetry in the modern world is a form of art, expression, and entertainment. Poetry is often misinterpreted as something dark and dreary, however that is a mere misconception of the genres people see. Poetry is a different type of literature that should be read aloud, have feeling put into it whilst reading, and should be acknowledeged for it's uniqueness.
